El Madroño

15 small and medium-scale coffee growers from Jinotega
STORY

El Madroño coffee blend is cradled in the cloudy mountains of Nicaragua. This blend is named after the national tree of Nicaragua that blooms between the months of November and February, just when coffee producers are also in full harvest in the country. The Madroño produces very striking and fragrant white flowers, emanating a very sweet fragance, like the one present in this coffee. The flowers oh this tree, in addition to being very aromatic, are used during La Purísima de La Concepción in December, a religious activity that is only celebrated in Nicaragua and where thousands of Catholic parishioners gather to profess their religion.

El Madroño is then a combination of culture, tradition, and essences of the country, which are rooted in the coffee lands, where this celebration is also held every year. Coffee growers behind this blend process each lot separately at their own micro-mills.
