Familia Cantillo

FAMILIA CANTILLO STORY

Spanning between the Andes Mountains and the Nevado del Huila volcano is the vereda El Divino Niño in Suaza. However, this vereda is commonly known as “Los Cantillo” because it is home to the entire Cantillo Family. Isaias Cantillo, the father, previously worked as a coffee picker in regions like Quindio and Tolima. He traveled from farm to farm, moving across mountains, until he returned to Suaza at the age of 21 and got married. He purchased his first piece of land from his uncle and started his own coffee production. Today, his children – Jose Manuel, Diomedes, Ferney, Olga Irene, and Reyes Fernando – also own their own coffee farms nearby.

The Cantillo family is a perfect example of a family business, as they all support and collaborate with one another to achieve the same goal: producing high-quality coffee.

Throughout the years, they have honed their skills in cupping coffee and distinguishing between different quality grades. They are driven to continuously improve their processes in order to achieve excellent quality. For them, the secret to success lies in approaching their work with love and dedication.
