Jardin del Inca
Around 10 small-scale producers, members of the ACRIM Coop
STORY
Among the mountain forests, near the border with Peru, you can find a group of smallscale producers who are committed to delivering coffee of the highest quality. There they produce a coffee that has a balanced and vivid cup quality. In the canton of Chinchipe, located in the south of the Province of Zamora, is the coffee coop called ACRIM. This region is one of the richest in biodiversity due to its proximity to the Amazon Rainforest, famous for its exotic flowers and native birds. Inhabitants of the region work towards protecting the environment as agriculture is their main income. The natural environment and the old presence of Inca indigenous tradition and culture, perfectly reflects the name of the blend; Jardin del Inca, meaning The Inca Garden.
Jardin del Inca coffee has been produced for more than 30 years, it is the livelihood and main economic activity of the producers in this region. They have their coffee trees in perfect condition and they have the perfect mix of varieties to produce the best coffee in the area. Coffee growers from this community work with ACRIM, who believes that “The sustainable progress and development of communities can only be achieved through getting together, working as a team, and respecting the environment.”
