Los Lorenzos
Close to 20 coffee growers from the municipality of Palestina
STORY
In 1860, Lorenzo Cuellar, a rich landowner founded “Hacienda El Quebradón”. The Hacienda covered the entirety of the municipality of Palestina. When Lorenzo Cuellar died, the hacienda was inherited by his sixteen siblings who sold most of the land off to settlers arriving in the region, searching for land and fortune. This region then became a coffee-growing community.
Today, twenty coffee growers from the municipality of Palestina are focused on producing high quality coffee under the name of Los Lorenzos, honoring Lorenzo Cuellar. These producers work on improving their quality by taking better care of the coffee trees, carefully picking only ripe cherries and continually working to improve beneficio techniques.
“Los Lorenzos has a butterscotch-like flavour with a medium body and high acidity, resulting in a very special cup.”
