Nariño
Coffee growers, members of the “Cooperativa de Cafés Especiales de Nariño”.
STORY
In the southeast of Colombia, just beside Ecuador, there is a department called Nariño, home to amazing coffee growers. This region is very close to the Pacific Ocean, which has a huge impact on the climate in the area. Nariño, especially the municipalities of Buesaco and Tablón de Goméz, are known for the great specialty coffee that they produce. Caravela Coffee has been working with a group of dedicated producers in this region for more than two years, helping them to focus on producing higher quality coffees.
This region has cool nights and warm days, which slows down the coffee’s maturation, achieving a distinct sweetness. Its name comes from the beautiful roses that are grown on farms in this area, filling the air with their sweet and heady scents.
“With delicious acidic notes of mangosteen, orange peel and red apple, combined with vanilla and caramel favours, this coffee is full of aromatic notes and has a silky body”.
