FINCA EL CONSUELO STORY

Don Agapito Orozco is 83 years old, and all his life he has been surrounded by coffee. He gained production knowledge from his grandparents and about 70 years ago decided that coffee would play a role in the rest of his life. He acquired finca El Consuelo and since then, he believes that coffee has made him a better person, he raised his children with better opportunities than he had and has been able to improve his quality of life. About 15 years ago, he participated in the regional coffee contest, hosted by Anacafe, and he achieved second place. This experience persuaded him that his coffee had high potential and that there were big opportunities ahead of him.

The perfect weather and ideal soil are the factors that make Finca El Consuelo so special. On his farm, Agapito also raises cattles and grow avocados, pacaya and bananas. His plans in the short term are to work on the construction of a road that will arrive to the farm, improving the access for visitors.
