Edier Perdomo
PARTNER´S NAME : DANEY MACHECHA
FINCA BUENA VISTA STORY
Edier comes from a long line of coffee producers, he was born in the countryside and has always lived there. From a young age, he would watch he father work on the farm and would always ask lots of question and would try to help out. Eventually after begging his father to have a go at producing his own coffee, he was given a small piece of land to experiment on. Edier’s father wasn’t expecting much and imagined that his son would soon tire of the project, but the opposite occurred.
Instead of giving up, Edier ended up producing his own coffee. It was through this experience that Edier started learning much of which he now knows about coffee. Education has always played an important role in Edier’s life, he started by doing a course in specialty coffee at the Sena, a public education platform in Colombia and later learnt how to cup coffee. He thinks having a more rounded knowledge of specialty coffee is key to improving processes on the farm and improving the quality of his coffee.
