Edith Enciso
FINCA LA ISLA STORY
Both, Edith Enciso and her husband Wilson Rodriguez were involved in coffee since they were young as they come from traditionally Colombian coffee growing families. When they married, they went to live in Quindio to a farm owned by Wilson’s parents. They worked there for a while but eventually decided that they wanted to start their own family business and grow as a couple and a family. This resulted in them moving to Planadas and starting their own coffee farm. Wilson is in charge of the harvesting and de-pulping the coffee and Edith is responsible for managing the post-harvest processes. Today, they produce coffee with one of their sons, Wilson in their three farms: Lusitania, La Isla, and Villa Sofia. They had already participated in Cup of Excellence before and Wilson and Edith achieved the first place in 2005.
This couple not only live for coffee, but they live for each other. Their coffee wouldn’t be so great if it wasn’t for the work they do as a family and the way they complement each other. Additionally, they believe that what makes their coffee so great is not only having the land and the infrastructure in perfect conditions, but the love and the dedication that they invest into the quality of their coffee.
