Filomeno Rodriguez Lopez
FINCA EL PENSAMIENTO STORY
Filomeno is a very experienced producer. His farm was acquired through inheritance in 1980 by Mr. Margarito Rodríguez, his father. Since then, the farm has been used for the planting of staples and harvesting of coffee. The coffee is carefully picked by Filomeno, his sons, and seasonal workers during harvest with a focus on selective picking. The farm is characterized by its sedimentary highlands and steep mountains because it is located in the Cordillera de los Cuchumatanes. The coffee is dried in a concrete patio for 7 to 10 days depending on the climatic conditions in the area, and later stored in propylene bags.
In the future, he plans to buy other lots of land and plant more coffee to increase the production he has today. Filomeno hopes that his children can continue with the business that has been the family breadwinner for many years.
