FINCA LOS GRANADILLOS STORY
For Francisco Ponce, coffee is a way of living for him and his family. In the 80s decade, Ponce and his family moved to Honduras due to the political problems and the war that was taking place in Nicaragua. The only who stayed from the family was Francisco’s oldest brother, who, during this time, dedicated to raise cattles, and used the money that he gained to buy 2 hectares of Caturra. When the whole family came back to Nicaragua, Francisco’s brother convince him to stay in Nicaragua to continue working with him in the coffee farm as a family business. With the passing of time, Francisco began to feel passion and love for coffee.
The Ponce brothers have not only improved the quality of their coffee, allowing them to receive higher incomes, they have improved their quality of life. Year by year, they have beeing purchasing more land, reaching 24 hectares today. Additionally, they bought a car to deliver the coffee to our facilities. But most important, they have learned many thinkgs about life in coffee. Francisco says he has learned that he has to always be open and flexible to change, and this way, they can evolve and improve in his processes. Francisco and his brother work every day to do the best in them and they put their best efforts to be the best coffee sourced by Caravela Coffee.
