This farm and the coffee which grows there, did not come easily. At the lowest moment, the farm was impounded by the bank and put up for auction. Many people tried to bid with low prices to purchase the land at a bargain. However, their low offers where not accepted by the bank and luckily this gave Guillermo Montenegro Ayestas enough time to sort out his finances and regain control of the land.
Over the last 8 years Guillermo and his family have been focused on producing top quality coffees, in fact nearly every year since 2011 the family’s coffee has placed in the national cup of excellence, reaching 7th place in 2017. There is no specific role for each person, the whole family works together to do what needs to be done with the support of everyone
This farm has faced it fair share of problems which led to its unsteady financial situation and the resulting impounding but the hard work of this family has meant that they have transfor- med this land through the production of outstanding coffees, one of which can be found in this Cinco box.
