FINCA EL CHORRITO STORY

In the central cordillera of Colombia, going up the mountains, you’ll arrive to the municipality of Inzá in Cauca. A luscious and agricultural driven place with a big indigenous heritage. Here, we’ll meet Javier Eduardo Camayo with Sandra Patricia Quintero, his wife, at their farm El Chorrito named after a) water spring in the farm. Javier has been in coffee since a young age, as his parents are in coffee, and he lived in the farm. When he was in high school his father gifted him 500 coffee trees to have and take care of, and as such taking his first baby steps with his own production. After finishing high school, he dedicated completely to the production of coffee and through time, his father inherited him the farm. Since 2020 he shifted his focus towards specialty coffee and since then his goals have been to be known for the quality of his coffee. At the farm he works alongside his wife in all aspects of the farm to achieve his goals and to continue working on his farm, his pride. As time passes by, Javier wants to increase the size of the farm and as always, produce more and better coffee. To make this happen, he wants to improve his wet mill and buy a car to transport more easily the coffee to the purchasing station
