FINCA EL MIRADOR STORY
lbague, the capital of the department of Tolima, is an important industrial and agricultura! hub. lt is located near the central cordillera where most of the coffee farms of the area are located. Taking the road, up these mountains, we arrive to El Mirador and meet Jose Fabian Hernandez. He has been in coffee since 1997, in this farm that he bought alongside his brother with great effort and work. During these years, he has learned more about coffee from the SENA, a government education agency, and the coffee association of the area. lt was in 2015 when he decided to focus on producing quality coffee for which the advice of the PECA technician proved useful with suggestions on improvement of the process, cherry picking and others. Jose Fabian is helped in the farm by his father, and two brothers carrying on all the necessary jobs to achieve good quality coffee. As per the current goals he has are to make improvements to his wet mili and house. Jose Fabian is eager to keep improving and learning more.
