FINCA EL NARANJO STORY

Juan Carrisoza didn’t only inherited Finca El Naranjo from his parents, he also inherited the passion and love for this product. Juan has been producing coffee on his own for over 20 years now and this farm has been his main source of income. Coffee, for Juan, is the way of sustaining his family, offering them a better quality of life and provide his children with education. On Finca El Naranjo the Carrisoza family works together as a team. Juan is in charge of the farm management and his children oversee the harvest. After harvesting, they all together work on the post-harvest process. For Juan, this is what makes his farm so special, the union among his family, that they all work together, and that’s a family business.

Over the years, this has helped Juan improve his quality of life, by receiving better incomes which he then reinvests on the farm and with his family. In the short term, Juan plans to expand his farm, renovate his coffee varietals, and continue improving the quality of their coffee. 2020 was the first year that Juan started working with Caravela. Our PECA team is now working with him to continue improving processes and management and improve the quality of the coffee year after year.
