FINCA VILLA LUCIANA STORY
In the Nariño region, located in the south of Colombia, you’ll find the municipality of Buesaco. Nestled in the mountains with amazing views, caressed by the clouds and where coffee h as become a key element for its inhabitants. In these crevices, above 2,000 m.a.s.l, Karen Mora decided to start her journey in coffee at her farm Villa Luciana, named after her first daughter, Luciana. She started her dream of dedicating to specialty coffee 4 years ago. Her spark was ignited by the different varieties she found plus the quality of specialty coffee. Jose Ignacio, her husband, had already work in coffee and thus both decided to start their own coffee farm. Of course, this road has proved challenging like for example having enough water for the dry season, but this hasn’t stopped them to continue with their passion of producing amazing coffee. At the farm they are helped by Karen’s mother and other women from the region that they hire during the harvest. The Gomez Mora family is building a legacy for their daughter, Luciana and their newborn. Currently they want to keep improving and be able to have more coffee trees and a better wet mill.
In Karen’s word “Thank you for buying our coffee as for us it is special that our coffee can be sold and get known worldwide”
