Lividia Vilchez Rojas

FINCA EL ALISO STORY

In the highlands of the region of Cajamarca in Peru, we find the Lidivia’s farm and family. Lividia Vilchez and her husband, Euxtaquio Herrera has been producing coffee since they were young. The region of Cajamarca is very well-known for the exceptional coffee that is produced there. Lividia and her husband both come from coffee growing families and she remembers being raised around coffee trees and coffee production. From her parents, she got the passion to take care of the environment and carry out processes that do not affect the planet. For this reason, they produce coffee organically, the way they their parents taught them, following traditions and respect for the environment.

A few years ago, Lividia decided to experiment with specialty coffee and have a better understanding of the coffee that they produce. That was when they realized that they have a very special coffee, and since then, they have been working on improving the quality of their coffee. Although the production is still very traditional and very artisanal, they have been experimenting with different fermentation techniques with the objective of improving the quality of their coffee. Lividia and Euxtaquio are very keen to continue learning in the journey of specialty coffee production.
