FINCA EL TRIUNFO STORY
Mesias Ibarra is a seasoned coffee farmer who has been in coffee since 1973 with his own coffee production. Coffee is his passion and with it he has been able to improve his quality of life plus provide for his kids. His farm El Triunfo, is the southern department of Cusco, in the district of Santa Teresa, on the rural area where Mesias loves the nature and views he has. At the farm, he is helped by his kids and a friend in all the necessary activities to produce his specialty coffee. It was in 2018 when he started producing high quality coffee motivated by the prices. Since taking the path of high quality coffee, he has become more organized in his fam management and processes. His passion has been coffee and striving to produce high quality coffees to participate in Cup of Excellence Peru and reach the top places. At the farm, Mesias has his coffee production organically certified as he believes in taking care of the flora and fauna found in the region. Currentiy, he processes his coffee with a good cherry picking and then pulping them. Afterwards, he ferments the coffee anaerobically for 36 hours and then washes the beans. For the final step, he dries the coffee in his solar dryer for approximately 15 days. As of now, he wants to increase the size of his solar dryer which would help him to dry more coffee.
