FINCA SANTA ROSA STORY

Trinidad Apolinar is motivated to know that growing coffee is continuing the family traditions and teachings. He runs Finca Santa Rosa together with his right-hand man and trusted worker Miguel Pérez. They oversee all agricultural activities from seed to commercialization. Trinidad has been working or growing coffee for most of his life since he started at age 13 with his father. However, he has focused on specialty coffee in the past eight years, when he realized that his coffee has what it takes to satisfy the most stringent of palates.

Trinidad Apolinar’s story, however, really took him to a new level of experience, commitment, and responsibility when he had the opportunity to buy the farm to start experimenting, leading to good and not-so-good results. He remembers having planted two hectares with varieties that did not have a cup profile and were not suitable for the climatic conditions where the farm is located. Over the years, he has faced other experiences such as failed drying of many batches or having truck accidents due to bad road conditions, but not everything goes wrong. He has found great people to work with, grow his farm, and buy more property and assets. To this day, something that makes him proud of his career as a coffee grower is knowing that his work and coffee are internationally recognized despite the challenge that each harvest brings!
