FINCA LA ISLA STORY

Both Wilson Rodriguez and Edith Enciso, his wife, have been involved in coffee since their youth, coming from traditional Colombian coffee-growing families. When they got married, they lived on a farm owned by Wilson’s parents in Quindío. They worked there for a while but eventually decided to start their own family business and grow as a couple and a family. This decision led them to move to Planadas and establish their own coffee farm. Wilson oversees harvesting and pulping the coffee, while Edith is responsible for managing the post-harvest processes. They have participated several times in the Cup of Excellence, winning first place in 2005. Nowadays, their son, Wilson Eduardo, helps them on the farm, which essentially consists of three parts: La Isla, where the house is located, and Lusitania and Villa Sofia.

Their coffee wouldn’t be as great if it weren’t for the work they do as a family and the way they complement each other. Additionally, they believe that what makes their coffee exceptional is not only having the land and infrastructure in perfect condition but also the love and dedication they invest in the quality of their coffee.
