Sacuanjoche
STORY
Sacuanjoche is the national flower of Nicaragua. It is an exotic tropical flowering tree with pinwheel-shaped flowers that grow on the frangipani tree of the Plumeria family, which is common throughout the country. Usually, the tree blooms around May, hence the name “Mayflower”. There are hundreds of Plumeria varieties, but the Rubra Plumeria is the one Nicaragua selected and proudly recognizes as a national symbol.
The local name Sacuanjoche is derived from the Nahuatl language. “Xacuan” means beautiful yellow petals, and “joche” means flower. Unlike other flowers, Sacuanjoche are intensely fragrant and have different scents. For this reason, the coffees for this blend are exclusively selected by our experienced quality team, which selects only those with floral and tropical notes. As a result, these coffees are as impressive as Sancuanjoche flowers!
